I'm still very fresh in cosplay, but will be going this year as:
[Complete/New] Mari Makinami Illustrious (Evangelion 2.22 Schoolgirl ver.):
This was my cosplay goal for 2013. I picked up a number of items to make this come together and I'm happy with the result. I have done a test with everything worn and everything except the mobility in my shoulders is perfect. I did take a few pictures to get feedback from friends, but they are low quality and no one would care for them because of it. I'm very excited to debut this cosplay and having my first photoshoot ever with
I hope it goes over well for us. Will be wearing her Thursday & Saturday.
[70% done] Luka Megurine (Kung Food ver. original):
This cosplay is supposed to be with a group, but is going to be hand-made. The sash has been completed, the dress is about 80% done, and the tuna prop is completed (thank you so so much for commissioning in your spare time, AuroraCelsius
)! Will likely only need one more session to complete the gloves, choker, and yellow lining.
I have learned (and done myself) sewing & pattern-cutting basics through working on this cosplay. Hopefully I'll retain these skills for future use. I've been asked one other time to cosplay with a group before, but this is the first time it's actually close to happening. I'm very grateful for the effort Celsius has made on my behalf, which has pushed me to make it worth it.
Depending on whether Celsius and I can get together will decide whether this gets completed in time for ANEXT or not. She says it shouldn't be too hard to sew together (and I don't want her doing all the work), so we'll just have to see. The fabrics are sitting in a bag and I have a wig. So that certainly qualifies as 1/5 done. The prop is another story altogether. XD
If this can be made,
I'll be around with this group on early/mid Friday. Also heard a photoshoot is happening.
Poison (Street Fighter X Tekken):
I debuted Poison at NYCC 2012 (that was a bit of a disaster in extreme pain) and also wore her at AnimeUSA (went much more successfully). Going to wear her at least once after all, if nothing else than to let my con friends see it.
I'm unsure if I should try her out at AN, since it's such an anime-focused con. I may just save her for Otakon since it's so much larger and more attendees may recognize Poison more.
Will be wearing her mid/late Friday, unless I decide to stay as Luka after my group changes their cosplays.
I have no plans to cosplay on Sunday. Maybe if Mari goes well, I'll wear her again since it's comfortable and fun.
Will be representing
as a cosplayer the whole weekend despite us not having an Artist Alley table this year. Hoping to make some new friends and enjoy the ones I only get to see at this con. If you are attending (and somehow happen to see this entry by unpopular me), do comment~
